This ambiguity, the fact that it can be all of these things, fascinates me and inspires me to write songs, play, compose and record music for myself and for others."
David has composed and produced music for feature documentaries, commercial videos, educational videos, guided meditations and online programs while integrating his skills as a sound recordist, mixer, and audio-editor. He enjoys the process of creating music to support the story being told by a video, film or visual animation and working with clients to bring the ‘sound aspect’ of their project to life.
As co-founder of the multimedia production company Enlivenment, and with over a decade of experience recording and performing under the artist name David & The Circumstances, David has composed music in a diverse range of genres, from acoustic and indie-rock to electronic and world music.
David studied Songwriting at CODARTS University in Rotterdam (Bachelor of Music) and Philosophy at Erasmus University. When he's not working on music, David can be found sharing his passion for music with students of all ages as a private music teacher.
